Farmer jailed for defilement

Aflao, Feb 03, GNA – A 21-year farmer of Live, a farming community in the Akatsi District, has been jailed seven years by the Aflao circuit court for defiling a school girl aged 12.

Mr Pius Cudjoe, a Police Chief Inspector, told the court that the victim lives with her parents in the same village as Brother Hateka, the accused.

He said on October 18 last year Hateka invited the victim, then returning from school, under the pretext of sending her to buy him a mosquito coil.

The victim stopped at the door and stretched her hand to collect the money for the coil but Hateka pulled her into his room and forcibly had sex with her.
