Farmer jailed 25 years for defiling minor

The Offinso Circuit Court, presided over by Mr. Samuel Owartey, has sentenced a farmer to 25 years imprisonment for defiling a minor.

Torgbui Fiadoho, alias “Lolor”, 43, was convicted on his own plea of guilt.

The incident happened on July 24, last year, at Agyeimpra, a predominantly farming community in the Offinso Municipality.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Edward Oduro-Kwateng, the Divisional Commander said the victim, a primary four pupil, was playing with her friends, when the convict asked her to buy him pepper.

She obliged and on her return, he lured the innocent girl to his room where he sexually abused her.

He gave to her cash of GHC1.00 after the act and warned that she kept her ordeal to herself.

Her alert grandmother saw the change in her gaiety and also observed that she could not walk properly when she got to the house and asked what had gone wrong.

The small girl told her everything about the painful experience she had been taken through and a formal report was made to the police leading to the arrest of Fiadoho.

ACP Oduro-Kwateng said doctors, who treated the victim in a signed medical report, confirmed that she had indeed been defiled

eaThe convict in his caution confessed to the crime, he added.
