Farmer in court for Teacher’s death

Asamankese, April 1, GNA – A 35-year-old farmer, Yaw Amponsah, has been remanded in prison custody by the Asamankese Circuit Court, for the alleged murder of a 55-year-old teacher, Mr Daniel Afful Okyere. The plea of the Amponsah was not taken and he is to reappear on April 12, this year.

Presenting the facts, Police Inspector P.K Baah, said both the accused and the deceased lived at Akyem Abaam. He said on March 16, some farmers arrested Amponsah for allegedly shooting Okyere in the bush.

The prosecutor did not elaborate on what actually happened and when the Judge asked whether the accused was on a hunting expedition, he replied in the negative.
