Farmer in court for possessing weeds suspected to be Wee

Asamankese, June 20, GNA – A man wanted by the Police for allegedly issuing a threat, was remanded by the Asamankese Circuit Court when dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp were found on him. Kofi Atta, a 38-year-old farmer, will re-appear on June 21, while the leaves were sent to the Police Forensic Laboratory for analysis. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joseph Idan said on May 22 a case of threatening was made against Atta at Akyem Bremen but he went into hiding.

On June 5, the person he had threatened spotted the accused at the Asamankese market and Atta was arrested.

When the Police searched him the leaves were found on him.
