Farmer fined for stealing a sheep

Mankranso (Ash), Nov 15, GNA – A 31-year-old farmer who stole a sheep valued at 300,000 cedis at Wioso in the Ahafo-Ano South district of Ashanti has been fined 500,000 cedis by the Mankranso magistrate court.

Kwame Sabeng, who pleaded guilty to stealing the sheep belonging to Gabriel Afriyie also a farmer, will serve 12 months imprisonment in default.

Detective Police Inspector Kofi Owusu told the court that Afriyie, on September 10, detected that one of sheep was missing of the sheep and upon a tip-off confronted Sabeng who admitted the offence. A report was to the police and Sabeng was arrested.
