Akim Asamama (E/R), Aug. 8, GNA – Mr Kwame Anane, a 44-year-old farmer and mason, has been installed as a sub-chief (Sanaahene) at Akim Asamama at a colourful ceremony to succeed his senior brother, the late Baafour Antwi I, who died about eight years ago.
Mr Anane’s stool name is Baffour Kwame Antwi II.
Swearing the oath of allegiance to Barima Boateng I, chief of Akim Asamamah, the newly-enstooled sub-chief, who will be in charge of financial affairs, promised that he would help the Asafoatse to organize the youth to undertake communal labour, initiate development projects and defend the people against the recent spate of armed robbery. Baffour Antwi also pledged to ensure that any amount meant for the development of the community would be put to proper use. He announced his plans to discuss with the chief and his elders to institute an educational fund to assist needy and brilliant students in the community.
