Farmer defiles eight year-old girl

Tarkwa, (W/R) May 26, GNA-A Tarkwa Circuit Court has remanded a 19 year- old farmer Kofi Odeefour, in prison custody for defiling an eight year-old school girl at Kwakuboa, a village near Sefwi Bekwai. He pleaded not guilty and the case has been adjourned to June 7. Giving the facts, Chief Inspector Jonathan Adotey told the court, presided over by Mr. John Ajet-Nasam that the victim lives with her grandparents and the accused stays in a nearby house. Chief Inspector Adotey said on April 6 this year, the victim was playing with her friend behind their kitchen when the accused invited her on the pretext of sending her but took her to his room and defiled her.

The prosecutor said after the act, he warned the victim not to disclose the incident to anybody otherwise she would die. The victim, for fear of death did not tell her grandparents until they detected that the victim was walking abnormally. When she was questioned, she mentioned the accused as the one who defiled her.

The case was reported to the police and the accused was arrested.
