Farmer defiles Class Two Pupil

Tema, Feb 16, GNA – A 46-year-old farmer on Monday has appeared before the Tema Circuit Court ‘B,’ for defiling a 13-year-old class two pupil. The accused, Tetteh Adjumang, pleaded not guilty to the charge and has been remanded into police custody to re-appear on February 18. Police Chief Inspector Theresah Adjei told the court that on April 14, the accused proposed to the victim who had gone to watch a movie in his room.

Chief Inspector Adjei said the victim went the following night to watch the movie and the accused lured her into his dedroom and had sexual intercourse with her.

The prosecution said the accused person later had sexual intercourse with the victim on two other occasions and gave her 50 Ghana cedis each time he sexually abused her. Chief Inspector Adjei said someone who realized that the victim was pregnant reported the matter to the Police and the accused person was picked up.

A pregnancy test on the victim revealed that she was four months pregnant. The court also heard that Adjumang, in his caution statement, admitted the offence, and said he was ready to take responsibility of the pregnancy. 16 Feb 10
