Farmer committed to stand trial for murder

Aflao (V/R), June 23, GNA- Wondzi Adzaho, 41, a farmer who allegedly killed his elder brother over a piece land, was on Monday committed to stand trial for murder by an Aflao circuit court. Mr. Kofi Frimpong, a police Inspector told the court presided over by Mr. Godwin Kwasi-Kumah that one Nyami also a farmer and Wondzi, his younger brother at Aflao were bequeathed a piece of land by their late father some years ago.

He said the head of family, resident in Tema, who was to share the property including the land between the two brothers could not do so when Nyami started disposing some portions of the land and this brought tension between him and Wondzi.

Mr. Frimpong said on September 29, 2000, the accused confronted the deceased who was yet again in the process of selling the final portion of the land and this resulted in a scuffle.

The deceased was alleged to have hit the accused with a garden rake but Wondzi who managed to wrestle the implement from him, hit him back on the head with it, sending him crashing onto the ground and died instantly.
