Farmer commits suicide over suspected unfaithful wife

Anwiafutu (W/R), July 18 – GNA- Yaw Ayisu, a 40-year-old farmer was found dead on a farm belonging to his landlord at Anwiafutu near Enchi on July 9.

Police Detective Sergeant Kwadwo Bonzie told the Ghana News agency that Madam Afia Takyiwa, wife of Ayisu reported the disappearance of her husband when he did not return from farm that day. There had been a misunderstanding between the couple over suspected unfaithfulness of Takyiwa.

Ayisu’s body was found on the farm the following day with an empty container of poisonous insecticide beside him. A post-mortem performed by Dr. Alex Obeng at the Enchi hospital said the deceased committed suicide by drinking the insecticide.
