Farmer commits suicide

Gambia No 2 B/A, Dec. 18, GNA – Kofi Nimoh, a 40-year-old farmer shot and killed himself with his own local manufactured gun at Gambia number two in the Asutifi district of Brong-Ahafo Region.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency GNA, Madam Yaa Abrafi, mother of the deceased said the wife of the deceased Obaa Yaa left for Berekum leaving her two young boys under the care of the deceased. She said three days later one of the children left the house without telling Nimoh their stepfather.

Madam Abrafi said the deceased who could not find the child traced the wife at Berekum to find out if the child was with her. The family of the wife gave the deceased three days to produce the child, which according to Madam Abrafi did not go down well with the deceased.

Madam Abrafi said about 1200 hours that fateful day, she was drying cocoa at the backyard of their house and heard a gunshot in the room of the deceased and rushed there only to find her son dead lying down in a pool of blood. The body had been deposited at Goaso Government hospital pending autopsy.
