Asamankese, Oct. 31, GNA – Andrew Tei, farmer, 27, who inflicted cutlass wounds on his brother, Mr Tetteh Noah, an “akpeteshie” distiller, has been remanded by the Asamankese Circuit Court for causing unlawful farm.
Tei pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on November 14. Police Chief Inspector Osei Owusu, prosecuting, said relations between Tei and Tetteh who lived in the same village of Kromanem, near Suhum, were cordial until June 26, when at about 20:00 hours Tei accused Tetteh of having insulted him the previous day, an allegation which he denied.
He said Tei became so angry during the exchanges that it developed into a quarrel during which he entered his room, armed himself with a sharp cutlass and inflicted six wounds over his brother’s skull, face and other parts of the body.
Tetteh fell unconscious and was rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital, while Tei was arrested by onlookers and sent to the police station.
Chief Inspector Owusu said owing to the seriousness of Tetteh’s wounds, he was referred to the Koforidua Regional Hospital where he underwent an operation and spent about a month on admission.
