Farmer Builds Barracks For Police

Kadelso (Brong Ahafo) 24 Sept, A 65-year-old farmer at Kadelso in the Kintampo district, Alhaji Nuhu Ali, is constructing barracks estimated at 35 million cedis for the police at Kadelso. The barracks of 22 rooms and places of convenience is at the roofing level. Alhaji Ali told the GNA at Kadelso that in 1973 he offered his two houses in the town to be used as a police station and barracks. He said the presence of the police in the area has ensured security for the people who are of various ethnic origins. Alhaji Ali appealed to the police administration to provide him with 12 bundles of roofing sheets to complete the project, saying the cost of the materials would be considered as rent advance on the accommodation. Inspector George Kweku, officer in charge of the station, said but for Alhaji Ali, a police station could not rpt not have been opened in the area. He said four of the ten policemen at the station were staying in private houses and stressed the need for the police administration to assist Alhaji Ali in the project.
