Farmer, 35, commits suicide over unpaid savings

A 35-year-old farmer has committed suicide at Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Yaw Bronya, who is also a customer with ‘God is love fun club’ at Nkoranza, is said to have poisoned himself with DDT.

According to his wife, Yaw had threatened to kill himself because his savings have been locked up with the micro finance company.

A local reporter Christian Ofori Kumah told Starr News the farmer killed himself after officials of the finance company confirmed to him that they were going through challenges.

“Officials of the bank told him that they were having challenges with their finances and also with the Bank of Ghana and he couldn’t take that.

“Again, he had saved there all his life and he also keeps monies sent him by his brothers abroad too there, so he just couldn’t stand the pressure,” Kumah narrated.
