Farmer, 24, defiles three-year old

Asamankese, June 24, GNA – Isaac Boamah, a 24- year-old farmer, was on Wednesday, remanded in prison custody by the Asamankese Circuit Court for defiling a three-year-old girl through her anus.

Boamah, who pleaded not guilty, would re-appear on July six. Police Inspector Francis Cobbina, prosecuting, told the court that the complainant, who was the mother of the child, and the accused, until recently, lived in the same house at Akyem Bomso.

He said as a result, the child knew the accused very well. The prosecutor said on May six, the mother and the child were standing in front of their kitchen when Boamah passed by and since the child was fond of the accused, she cried out and expressed the desire to follow him.

He said the mother, therefore, allowed Boamah to take the girl away while she left for the farm.

Later in the day, Boamah brought the child back to her mother and as she was bathing her, the woman detected that whenever she touched her anus, the girl yelled.

The mother, therefore, questioned her as to what had happened to her and she mentioned Boamah as being responsible for her pains. The mother and some members of the family traced and managed to arrest Boamah and sent him to the Police Station. Medical forms were, subsequently, issued to the mother to send the child to hospital for treatment. The mother returned the duplicate medical reports which confirmed that the child had been carnally known through the anus. In his investigation caution statement, the accused admitted the offence and was formally arrested and charged for court. 24 June 09
