Farmer, 20, rapes 60 year-old-woman

A Tarkwa circuit court has remanded a 20-year-old farmer, Kofi Acheampong, for allegedly raping a 60-year-old woman at Wassa Japa in the Western region. He pleaded not guilty and will re-appear in court on September 10.

Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the victim is a food vendor at Wassa Japa and resides in the same vicinity with the accused.

Inspector Paddy said on June 28, the accused trailed the victim to the bush where she went to dump refuse and sexually assorted her. The accused went into hiding until he was arrested on July 7 for stealing.
