Farewell parade for former IGP

Accra, April 16, GNA – The Police on Friday organized a colourful farewell parade for the out going Inspector General of police, Nana Owusu Nsiah at the National Police Training School in Accra. The smart turnout and drills by the police received a sustained applause from the crowd that had come from far and near to witness the event.

In his send-off message, Nana Owusu Nsiah was grateful to the Police Service for their support during his administration as the IGP. He called on the personnel to be loyal to the service and to maintain the high sense of discipline and integrity to raise the image of the service.

The out-going IGP also appealed to the government to continue to resource the service in both human and logistical terms to enable them combat crimes in the country.

Mr Paul Quaye, Commissioner of Police, Research and Planning at a reception for the retired IGP acknowledged the many good things that he did for the Police Service. He congratulated Nana Owusu Nsiah for his rich experience that he brought to bear on the service as an administrator, accountant, a lawyer and a traditional ruler.

Mr Quaye also applauded the former IGP for initiating and organizing several workshops to raise the level of education and improve upon the knowledge base of policemen. 16 April 05
