Fantes in Ashanti advised to be law-abiding

Nkawie (Ash), June 27, GNA – Fantes living in the Ashanti Region have been advised to be law-abiding and live in harmony with people in the communities in which they reside.

Nana Akwafo Owese, Nfantehene of Kumasi, said Fantes should be exemplary and contribute to the development of communities in which they live.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Nkawie branch of Mfante ‘Korye Kuo’, a benevolent society of Fantes at Nkawie in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District on Sunday. Nana Owese advised the leadership of the society to be accountable, transparent and hard working in order to attract more people to join.

Very Rev (Major) Charles Kwesi Affainie (rtd), Chairman of the society, said the society, which was formed in 1991 with 31 members, now had 73 members.

He said the leadership was putting measures in place to make the society more unique and dynamic and appealed to the members to support the initiative to enable them achieve their goals.
