Fanteakwa MP unveils his priority areas

Osino (E/R), Jan. 31, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, Mr Kwadwo Adjei-Adoo, says he intends improving education, agriculture and women empowerment during his tenure to raise the living standards of the people in the constituency.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service at Osino on Sunday, Mr Adjei-Addo said he would confer with stakeholders in the district to establish a teacher training college at Begoro to produce enough professional teachers to feed schools in the district.

He said when the college was established, majority of qualified indigenes would be trained and posted to deprived schools on completion to raise education standard.

Mr Adjei-Addo said he would also ensure that every school established a Kindergarten with qualified teachers to prepare a strong foundation for education.

He said his short-term plan was to provide the necessary logistics and motivation for teachers to hold extra tuition for candidates preparing for the forthcoming BECE to enable the district perform better this year.

Mr Adjei-Addo said his medium-term plans were to pursue the adoption of modern agricultural techniques to generate employment for the youth and also empower women to go into micro-projects to improve their standard of living.

He expressed his gratitude to the electorate for voting him and President Kufuor to power.

The Fanteakwa Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr Kofi Asare Lartey, commended the electorate for their support in “the recapturing of the traditional seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC),” Rev.
