Fanteakwa Assembly to spend 1.6 billion cedis on projects

Begoro, July 13, GNA – The Fanteakwa District Assembly is to spend a total 1,663,300,000 on development programme this year.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Ebenezer Ofoe Caesar, announced this at an emergency meeting of the Assembly at Begoro on Friday. He said out of the amount, 924.2 million cedis would go into poverty alleviation, 462.1 million cedis to support community initiated projects, 252 million cedis to support the Quality Improvement in Primary Schools (QUIPS) project at Ahomahomasu, Feyiase, Bepoase and Osino, while 25 million cedis go into the development of the Trudu Waterfalls into a tourist attraction.

Mr Caesar urged assembly members to assist revenue collectors to generate enough money to augment the District Assembly Common Fund.
