Fanteakwa Assembly elects new Presiding Member

Begoro, Dec. 24, GNA – The Akwansrehene (Sub-chief) of Fanteakwa, Nana Boadu Sah was on Thursday elected as the new Presiding Member of the Fanteakwa District Assembly. He replaced Mr Kwadwo Adjei-Addo, who had been elected as the Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa.

The 70-year-old farmer became the sole candidate after three other contestants pulled out from the contest after the second round of voting.

Nana Boadu thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and appealed for cooperation to facilitate the development of the District.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Ebenezer Ofoe Caesar, asked the assembly members not to divide their ranks with partisan politics.

The new Presiding Member could however not be sworn into office due to the absence of the District Magistrate.
