‘Fake interest’ in Kwesi Botchwey report intended for mischief – Portuphy

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Kofi Portuphy has described as fake the calls by some institutions and individuals for the party to make the Kwesi Botchwey report public.

He said all those calling for the report to be made public only want to use it to fulfill their mischievous agenda.

Speaking in an interview on GH One TV’s State of Affairs the chairman of the main opposition party said, “what is good for the party to revive itself to build itself is what we are implementing and so why are people crying and faking that they want to see the report… why do you want the verbatim report”.

According to the chairman, the party has already been destroyed by its shortcomings and therefore making the report public cannot cause any more harm adding it won’t solve their problems either.

“We have already been destroyed by our shortcomings, our omissions and commission and we are aware about those things, so it should not be the publication of the report that should resolve our problems”.

He said the commitment and dedication of party faithful to resolve their problems is the only way they can achieve that.

Various institutions and individuals, including the ruling NPP have made several calls for the NDC to make public the final report from the Kwesi Botchwey Committee but the party has refused to do so.

Leaders of the party have also denied information that have been said to be leaked portions of the report on different occasions.
