Faith Ladies, winners of the 2024/25 Women’s FA Cup, have been rewarded with a GH¢10,000 gift from the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, in recognition of their remarkable achievement.
The Dansoman-based club visited the Minister on Wednesday to showcase their hard-earned trophy. Kofi Adams commended the team’s dedication and hailed their victory as a testament to the growing prominence of women’s football in Ghana.
“Women’s football is growing rapidly, and it’s encouraging to see clubs like Faith Ladies leading the way,” Adams remarked. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting women’s football and pledged to assist the club in achieving even greater success.
The Minister urged the team to remain focused and hardworking, adding, “Keep the hope alive and continue to put in the hard work. The government and the Ghana Football Association stand with you.”
Faith Ladies’ Acting Manager, Solomon Mordey, expressed his gratitude for the Minister’s warm reception and financial support. He also used the opportunity to remind the Minister about a promise made by the Ghana Football Association to procure a new team bus for the club, appealing for its fulfillment to aid their development.
The visit marked another milestone in the government’s efforts to promote women’s football, as Faith Ladies’ triumph serves as an inspiration for other clubs and young female players across the nation.
