Fair Point holds Nania F/C

Accra, April 5, GNA-Visiting Kpone Fair Point played a determined gamed to hold Nania F/C to a goalless drawn game in their Division One League match played at Legon near Accra on Saturday. The game, which was started on a fast note, saw Nania making several incursions into their opponents’ vital area but could not score as the defenders of Fair Point, pivoted around Isaac Addo, Stephen Tetteh and Peter Amoah held the attackers in check. The tide changed in favour of Fair Point in the 29th minute but Aidoo Bediah’s powerful shot missed the target. Titus Ampah nearly shot Nania into the lead but his terrific strike in the 35th minute was saved by goalkeeper Daniel Ammisah of Fair Point.

The game became balanced in the second half as both teams intensified their efforts but it was Fair Point, who managed to score through Eric Amponsah in the 83rd minute but it was ruled off-side by Referee Ali Musa Plato. Mr. Jerome Kudzo, Secretary of Fair Point told GNA Sports in an interview after the match that the referee performance was below average. “We would have won the match if the referee had performed better’, he said. 05 April 09
