Faded road markings causing accidents in Sunyani Municipality

Some of them told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that road markings were fading, resulting in lorry accidents in the area aside other causes such as drink-driving, ignorance on the part of some road users, over speeding and wrongful over-taking by drivers.

Mr. Adam Mohammed, a taxi driver in the municipality, called on the authorities to remedy the situation, and said some drivers veered off their lanes unto other lanes because the markings were completely erased.

Another driver, Kwaku Boakye popularly Known as ‘Onua’, said as drivers, they found it difficult to drive in the night, and some vehicles collided because of the faded markings and malfunctioning reflectors.

Miss Juliet Amponsah Manu, a student, also expressed displeasure that Zebra crossing markings on the road had faded, and asked the Municipal Department of Urban Roads to rectify the situation.**
