Explosion kills two engineers working on West Africa Gas Pipeline

Two engineers of the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company died last night in an explosion while working on the Aboadze pipeline in the Western region.

The explosion is thought to have resulted from a high level of nitrogen which was being used to clean moisture from the pipeline after rehabilitation works.

One of the victims was the nephew of the Chief fishermen of Aboadze Nana Adams Aduafo who confirmed the accident to XYZ News.

He described the incident as a sad one adding that measure must be put in place to ensure the safety of the engineers.

Nana Adams however emphasized that the pipeline is however safe for gas to flow.

“The pipes have been repaired and they ended last night and they were about to put the gas through when the incident happened”.
