Explosion at oil depot leaves several injured in Sekondi/Takoradi

An explosion at the OLAM Oil Depot on the Sekondi-Takoradi highway on Tuesday morning has left several of the workers injured.

The explosion is said to have kindled fire at the depot. According to Connect FM’s Henry Yankee, there is only one fire tender on site to control the spreading inferno.

There are fears the situation may escalate as the depot is situated between two fuel stations.

Police have already arrived at the scene to provide security, Connect FM’s reporter said, while the injured have been rushed to a nearby health post.
