Explosion at Cadbury injures workers

Accra, Jan 06, GNA – An explosion at Cadbury Limited, a confectionary factory located at the High Street in Accra, on Friday has injured a number of workers, an official of the company said. No deaths have however been reported so far.

The only official of the company who was willing to speak to the Teaching Hospital. Please come back in an hour’s time. For now that is all I know.”

He could however not say the cause of the explosion or the number of people that are injured.

When the GNA arrived at the scene, a fire van had parked within the premises of the company with a number of firemen hovering around the scene whilst a number of security men patrolled the premises as well as the entrance to the company.

A crowd of curious people had also gathered outside the company’s premises to watch what was going on.

Besides the fairly quiet crowd that had gathered close to the premises, there was no sign of chaos at the scene.
