Ex-Vice President To Take Up Appointment In Canada

Former Vice President and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in last December elections, Professor John Atta Mills is scheduled to leave for Canada to take up an appointment as a Visiting Scholar at the University of British Columbia and Senior Associate at the Lui Centre for the Study of Global Issues. The former law lecturer’s duty tour is expected to provide timely and quality support to the operations of the Centre and raise the low awareness of African affairs across Canada.

The letter of invitation to Professor Mills says the focus of his work will be on governance, leadership, human security and conflict, and also provide Canadians with a different perspective of Africa.

Professor Mills who led the opposition National Democratic Congress to the last general elections will continue to be in touch with his constituents and supporters in Ghana and North America during the one-year duty tour.
