EX-NDC MP Still At Post In Lagos

Mr. Abraham Kofi Asante, the former NDC Member of Parliament for Amenfi West in the Western Region still sits in the ECOWAS Parliament in Abuja, Nigeria and enjoys all the benefits and allowances as a representative even though he is no longer a sitting MP.

According to the PALAVER, Article 2 of the ECOWAS Official Journal, Members of Parliament, shall be deemed to represent all the peoples of the sub-region, and since his resignation in April, Mr. Asante is no longer qualified to be part of the Community Parliament therefore, it is wrong for the former Member of Parliament to remain in Abuja as a representative of Ghana.
