Ex-Mozambique president calls on Mahama

Mr Joaquim Alberto Chissano, former President of Mozambique, on Wednesday April 8, 2015 paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

The former President is in the country to deliver a lecture as part of the Africa Leadership Lectures instituted by the University for Development Studies (UDS).

The three (3) day lecture which is the third edition of the Africa Leadership Lectures will be climaxed on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Academic Board Chamber, Central Administration, Tamale Campus.

The Africa Leadership Lectures is aimed at contributing to a national and transnational discourse on productive leadership culture that will support and enhance Africa’s development.

He will be speaking on the topics: The Evolution of the Strong Visionary Leadership of the Frontline States and its Contribution to the Liberation Struggle in Southern Africa, Reflections on Leadership, Good Governance and Development in Africa and Leadership and Conflict Resolution in Africa.

On Saturday, UDS is expected to confer a Doctorate Degree on Mr. Chissano, for his exemplary leadership which has transformed and developed Mozambique, making him win the MO Ibrahim Prize for African Leadership.
