Ex-GREDA boss pleads not guilty to SIM Box fraud charge

The former boss of the Ghana Real Estate Development Association (GREDA) Dr. Alexander Tweneboah who is standing trial for SIM boxing has told an Accra Magistrate court that he is not guilty of the charge leveled against him.

Dr Tweneboah and nine others were nabbed by a joint Anti-Telecommunication Fraud Taskforce in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service for SIM Boxing.

He, however, told the court Monday that he is not guilty of the counts of providing electronic equipment without license and possessing illegal devices with intent to commit crime.

He noted also, that he is unwell and must be granted bail to attend to his health but the court declined.

The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

His lawyer, Fiifi Abban argued that his client had been on remand for more than 20 days, and since the alleged offence was bailable, the court should have decided otherwise.
