Ex-convict jailed two years for stealing plantain

Twifo Praso (C/R) June 30, GNA – Yaw Mensah, a 32-year-old ex-convict, was on Wednesday sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Praso district magistrate court for stealing three bunches of plantain from the farm of one Mr Emmanuel Mensah.

He pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector George Okine told the court that on June 23, some farmers spotted Mensah carrying the plantain from the farm of Mr Mensah.

He was arrested and during interrogation he admitted stealing the plantain from Mensah’s farm.
