Ex-convict jailed for stealing electronics

Twifo Praso, April 2, GNA – Ekow Acquah, an ex-convict from Praso was on Wednesday jailed three years by the Praso Magistrate Court for stealing an amplifier, loud-speaker and a standing fan all valued at 1.2 million cedis.

Acquah who has three previous convictions for stealing pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector George Okine told the court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay that on March 24 this year, the accused opened the store of one Mr Joseph Donkor at Praso and made away with the items. He said Acquah was arrested at Dunkwa on-Offin, the next day while offering the items for sale.

According to the prosecution only the standing fan was retrieved when he was arrested.
