Even NDC believes only Akufo-Addo can save Ghana – Sir John

Immediate-Past General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, affectionately called “Sir John” has called on the other Presidential hopefuls in the party to throw in the towel and rally their support and financial resources behind Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the open endorsement from party delegates and some opposition leaders clearly shows the country needs the leadership of Nana Addo to end the myriad of economic problems facing the nation.

Speaking in an interview on “Adeakye Abia” on Okay Fm, Sir John said suffering Ghanaians under the NDC are really crying for Nana Akufo-Addo to lead the country.

He added that even those contesting the flagbearership position with the 2008 and 2012 NPP Presidential Candidate are aware Nana Addo will easily seal victory in the primaries.

“What Ghanaians, NPP and those who are suffering under NDC are saying is that without Nana Addo, they will not vote in the next elections; NDC now knows and believe that with the current economic crises, only Nana Addo can save the situation. So if you are a member of NPP and you see that those outside the party are calling for Nana Addo then you should; even those who are contesting with Nana Addo know that he (Nana) will win the election.

“Everybody in the country believe that Akufo Addo should be given the chance to rule the country and so we are praying that in 2016, God will make Nana Addo the next President to end the current economic situation……If I were the contestants, I would stop campaigning and support Nana Addo considering the support from the MPs, Constituency and Regional Chairmen of the party towards Nana Akufo Addo,” he stated.
