Nana Agradaa, a former traditional priestess turned evangelist, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in a money-doubling scam.
Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, was found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence. She had falsely claimed to possess spiritual powers to double money in a 2022 televised broadcast, convincing several individuals to part with large sums of cash.
The Circuit Court in Accra handed down the sentence, marking a significant step in the fight against fraudulent spiritual schemes and deceptive religious practices.
Prior to sentencing, the court conducted a mandatory pregnancy test, which confirmed Nana Agradaa was not pregnant, allowing the sentencing to proceed.
