Evangelical Society holds congress in Kumasi

Accra, Feb. 10, GNA – The Ghana Evangelical Society (GES), in collaboration with the Church in Kumasi, will crown Jesus Christ as King of Glory at a three-day congress to be held in the Garden City. Dubbed the 93Kingdom Glory Congress,” the event is scheduled for Wednesday February 16, through Friday February 18, 2011.

A release signed by Pastor Enoch Immanuel Agbozo, leader of GES, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the objective of the congres= s was to promote the unity of the Church and its mission in exalting Jesus th= e King of Glory in a world beset with the rejection of the knowledge and Honour of God. It also aimed at strengthening the Church’s connection and witness o= f Jesus Christ as Head of the Church in Africa and the world, the release added. The three-day programme comprises morning seminars on 93Christ and th= e Church Mission” in the auditorium of the Maranatha Evangelistic Ministrie= s International at Adum, and Kingdom Glory rallies in the evenings at the Jubilee/Jackson Park.

“Presently, there is a deep spiritual disconnect between the Church and Christ. Rather than being God-centred, the Church is increasingly becoming a human institution,” the release said, adding that the Kumasi congress was part of efforts to bring about a reconnection with Christ.
