Eunice Cofie Selected

We are proud to announce that Ms. Eunice Cofie , a pre-med student of Tallahassee, FL, has been selected to participate in the fourth annual Student National Medical Association 2004 Ghana Medical Mission! For the past three years, the SNMA has partnered with the Nene Katey Ocansey I Learning and Technology Center (Neko Tech), a community-based organization, to launch the pilot for the Save a Million Lives HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention program (SaML) in Ada, Ghana.

The goal of this project is to develop a model for the prevention of HIV/AIDS in rural Ghana. In June of 2001, educational intervention was addressed through the identification and training of community health educators on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS curricula. In 2002, the second phase of implementation of the SaML Program addressed health assessment, health education and health care delivery regarding HIV/AIDS in this community. In 2003, SNMA and SaML?s focused on working with the Community Health Educators and Nurses to deliver HIV/AIDS education the people in the villages of Ada.

Please support Ms. Eunice Cofie by making donations to help her participate in this endeavor. Attached to this email is more information on how you can sponsor her. If you have any questions or comments please call 850-894-8598 or email [email protected].
