The durbar, also afforded a 14-member committee tasked to oversee the reforms, to brief workers about progress made so far.

Ghana Urban Water Limited is a subsidiary company established by government to manage the operations of the Ghana Water Company Limited, after the exit of Aqua Vitens Rand Limited in June this year.

The two companies are to be merged into a single national utility to improve efficiency in the production and distribution of water in the country.

Earlier today, the workers of the Ghana Urban Water Limited embarked on a strike to protest the dismissal of their General Manager.

It is not clear why the General Manager was dismissed, and a section of the workers have been demanding answers.

Joy News’ Anny Osabutey reported that the demonstrators held two banners which read: Welcome Hon. E.T Mensah, action man deal with the chop chop brigade; and We the workers of Ghana Water Company Limited support your reforms.
