ET Mensah attacking NDC officers to please Rawlings – Governance Expert

Governance expert and Executive Director of the Ghana Institute of Governance and Security (GIGS) Mr David Agbee believes the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) former Ningo-Prampram, Enoch is seeking to win back the heart of former President and the party founder of his party Jerry John Rawlings hence, his recent attacks on his the party executives.

The former MP served under President Rawlings and John Mahama as minister but lost his reelection bid to parliament after losing to a former presidential staffer Sam Nartey George during the party’s internal contest.

The astute politician now appears to be angry with the party on whose ticket he represented it till the last general elections.

He recently went public to attack some personalities in the party and explained that indiscipline on the side of the national executives caused the party‘s defeat during the December polls last year.

But governance expert Mr. David Agbee suspects the NDC kingpin is attacking his own party because he wants political favour from the Rawlingses.

“What did we hear from E.T. Mensah when he was in parliament and the NDC executives were calling the founder names? …was It not an indiscipline he is talking about”, he asked.

Mr. Agbee in an interview on Kumasi-based New Mercury Fm said: “I believe he is doing what is doing now to save his future political career on the side of the founder”
