Esseku’s revelations just a tip of the iceberg -Bagbin

The Minority Leader, Alban Bagbin says the alleged revelation by the national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Harona Esseku ? is just a tip of the iceberg” in what he sees as the corruption binge of the Kufuor administration.

He said he was not surprised at all at the news that the party took kickbacks on contracts it awarded to contractors and believed that more revelation would come if the party were investigated.

? NPP is corrupt to the bone marrow,? he said.

Mr Bagbin who is also the NDC MP for Nadowli West reiterated his conviction that NPP is more corrupt than any party in the country.

He said he saw signs of corruption in the party since 2001 and warned Ghanaians about the dangers ahead.

Mr Bagbin said the nation has lost its values,? lies are more treasured than the truth? and people have now began playing politics with the issue.

Although Mr Bagbin was unable to substantiate his stand with any evidence, he has however sworn to resign his seat as a Member of Parliament if any committee exonerates the party from acts of corruption.

He said the presidency has even lost respect among some NPP activist and this is the reason why most of the aspiring presidential candidates do not want to use his track records for campaigns.

The Minority Leader said the Minority would soon hold a press conference to state its position on recent happenings in the country including the arrest of the MP for Nkoranza North, Eric Amoateng in the US for drug trafficking offence and the alleged kickbacks at the Castle.
