Escapees who turned themselves in were ordered by pay masters to do so – Nketia

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia is alleging that, the 13 members of the vigilante group, Delta Force who were facing charges for causing disturbances at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and freed by their colleagues at the Kumasi Circuit Court where they were standing trail, and turned themselves in to the police, did so after receiving a call from senior members of the New Patriotic Party.

Speaking in an interview with Rainbow Radio’s 87.5Fm, the chief scribe of the largest opposition party posited that, the suspects would not be punished.

The group affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) yesterday [Thursday] stormed the Kumasi Circuit Court and freed some 13 colleagues who were facing charges for causing disturbances at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council.

But speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah said the 13 have all reported themselves to the police whiles 8 others who staged the attack on the court have also been arrested.

However, Mr. Nketia says those who turned themselves in did so at the order of their pay masters. ”The escapees turned themselves in because their pay masters called them and told them that the attack will tarnish the image of government.

They were told that, from where the situation is heading to, they should turn themselves in so later they will be set free.” He warned Ghanaians to prepare themselves as terrorism has started in Ghana. ‘’Ghanaians should prepare because terrorism has started in Ghana.

The situation will be out of hands if we do not deal with it once and for all.’’ Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia described the attack on the Circuit Court as distasteful and grievous than the one staged at the Kumasi Security Coordinating Council. ‘’The attack on the court by the Delta Force group is grievous than the one staged on the Kumasi Security Coordinating Council. Are they [suspects] going to be punished? Are we sure they will face the full rigours of the law? If at this stage we are unable to deal with the situation then we should prepare for the worse’’
