ER Hospital to be Centre of Excellence

Koforidua, Jan 2, GNA – A number of measures are to be implemented by the management of the Eastern Regional Hospital to improve services to transform it into a Centre of Excellence.

Dr. Obeng Apore, acting Medical Superintendent, addressing a meeting with heads of departments and ward matrons on Tuesday, to plan the programme for 2004, urged them to show more interest in revenue being generated from their areas.

He charged them to help raise sufficient funds to improve health care delivery and to motivate the staff to offer their best.

Mr Lucio Dery, Hospital Administrator, said the measures included improving relationship between the Hospital and the community.

He said the management would also promote interaction with private medical practitioners in the region, who would be invited to participate in the half-year review meetings of the Hospital.
