Equipment for Effia-Nkwanta Hospital lying idle

Sekondi, Jan.13, GNA – Mr Michael Asare Micah, Head of Administration of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital at Sekondi, on Wednesday said that equipment meant for the Accident and Emergency Ward has being lying idle at the Hospital for more than one year.

He told GNA that this was because construction of the ward was not complete adding that the warranty on the equipment has almost expired. Mr Micah appealed to the authorities to complete the project so that the equipment to be installed to facilitate treatment of accident and emergency cases.

Mr Samuel Kwadwo Asamoah, Head of the Hospital’s Laboratory Services, said a chemical analyzer, which has the capacity to handle 200 to 300 cases for a limited time of six hours a day was not operating but a back-up equipment which handles 40 cases a day was being used.
