Equal recognition to parents, key to home stability

Reverend George Amoako Nimako, Resident Pastor of the Praise Sanctuary Church at Adenta, has called on the youth to give equal recognition to all guardians who have helped shape their lives.

“Children should not use the few mistakes of their fathers to brand fatherhood as irresponsible,” he said.

Rev Nimako made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, after organizing a special church service and prayers for parents at the weekend.

He called on parents, especially fathers not to shirk their responsibilities in the home, to encourage children to accord them equal recognition.

“Fathers should show unconditional love and be role models to their children and wives,” he said, adding that, fathers need to be responsible for the proper upbringing and development of the family.

Rev Nimako said parents should painstakingly ensure the moral discipline of their wards whilst making efforts to provide for the home.

He asked children not to overlook their parents’ wisdom and knowledge whilst calling on men to spend quality time with the family.

Rev Frank Abedi Boateng, Resident Pastor of the International Charismatic Church at New Fadama, urged fathers to strive hard and make sacrifices towards the education of their wards.

He said: “This is the best social security that parents could leave for their children,” and advised fathers to desist from unnecessary expenditures
