Ephson: Kwabena Agyepong’s political future “dead”

Pollster Ben Ephson has stated the political future of the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Agyepong is “dead” considering the wrangling within the party.

Tension is brewing within the national executive body of the NPP with the general secretary and national chairman Paul Afoko on one hand, and the first Vice Chair Freddie Blay and his camp on the other.

The recriminations were sparked by a steering committee meeting organised and chaired by Blay last week while both Afoko and Agyepong were away.

The General Secretary and Chairman have raised qualms with the organisation of the meeting behind their back.

Agyepong in a response stated there are some elements within the party who want to tarnish his image and destroy his political future.

But the Managing Editor of the Dispatch newspaper told Fiifi Banson, host of Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3FM Wednesday that the response by Agyepong seems to suggest that he has plans of contesting for the flagbearership of the NPP in 2020.

“He talks about people destroying his political future, I think he wants to run [President] in 2020 but unfortunately from what he is doing I think he has shot himself in the foot,” Ephson said adding, “his political future is gone”.
