EP Church, Ghana, elects Moderator

Ho, Sept. 12, GNA – The Right Reverend Dr Livingstone Kwamla Buama, 61, was on Saturday re-elected Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, Ghana, for a second four-year term at the 63 Synod of the Church in Ho.

He polled 135 votes to defeat Rev. Lawson J. K. Dzakpasu, a former Synod Clerk of the Church, who had five votes.

Rt. Rev. Dr Buama, a former Principal of the Trinity College in Accra, has a chain of degrees in theology and philosophy from local and foreign institutions.

Mr Erasmus Kobla Aba, Convener of the Publicity Committee of the Synod briefed Journalist on the elections in Ho on Sunday. He said Rev. Frank K. Anku, also retained his position as the Synod Clerk, polling 109 votes to defeat Rev. Godwin Osiakwa, who had 25 votes and Rev Francis Amenu who had six votes.

Mr Aba said Rt. Rev. Buama described his first term as that for the stabilisation of the Church and pledged to concentrate on strengthening the Church’s capacity for evangelism and social work during the ensuing term.
