Ankaase (Ash), April 2, GNA- Nana Asante Frempong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre, has said that it was about time district assemblies adopted strategies to encourage communities to contribute towards the provision of projects. He said by so doing, the communities would not become owners of the facility but would also help the assemblies to reduce cost of awarding projects on contracts.
Nana Asante Frempong was speaking at the inauguration of a 64 million-cedi toilet facility built by Nana Fredua Agyeman Manu, a citizen of Ankaase and an investment consultant at Ankaase in the Kwabre district on Wednesday. The MP said the efforts of Nana Manu, must be appreciated by all because wisdom, strength, money and knowledge were given to man by God to help humanity and anybody who does that needed commendation.
Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive, asked the people to be proud of the project. He announced that the road from Hemang to Ankaase would be tarred very soon, adding that Ankaase was also among the towns that were going to benefit from the 50 boreholes to be provided for some communities in the district.
Alhaji Yeboah advised the people not to fail to exercise their franchise in the impending general elections to elect good leaders. He also urged them to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to improve on their health.
Oheneba Agyeman Kofi, Ankaasehene, appealed to the assembly to construct a market for the town and also expedite action on the rehabilitation of the Ankaase-Aboaso road. Nana Agyeman Manu said he was prepared to support the development of the town and called for support from the people.
