Emeritus Catholic Archbishop Mensah reported dead

Emeritus Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, the Most Reverend Thomas Kwaku Mensah, is reported dead at the age of 81.

He is said to have passed away at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Sunday, April 10, after a short illness.

Born on February 2, 1935, at Obuasi-Asamang, he was ordained as a Catholic priest, on June 3, 1973.

The deceased Archbishop was on May 28, 1995, appointed the first Bishop of the Obuasi Diocese.

In March 2008, he was elevated as Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi and retired from the priesthood on May 15, 2012
