Elmina, Oct. 26, GNA- The Central Regional pre-mix Coordinator, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed on Tuesday inaugurated a six-member Local Pre-mix Committee for Elmina, to check the diversion of premix fuel, enforce fishing bye-laws and ensure sanitation along the beaches. Alhaji Mohammed urged the Committee, chaired by the Elmina Chief Fisherman Nana Joojo Solomon to work with caution, diligence and without fear or favour.
Nana Solomon pledged the commitment of the members to work hard to fulfill their mandate as well as the accelerated development of the community and urged fishermen in the area to cooperate with them. In a related development, a 12-member Community Based Fisheries Management Committee has been inaugurated with one Mr. Kobina Benya as Chairman.
